Planning for a SUB!!!! After a snow day!

Ok, so I hate getting a sub but sometimes you need a break ..and you and the hubby need time away in Atalanta , GA! Anyway my job for planning for a sub has just gotten harder. We have been out of school for two days for snow (believe me I am NOt really complaining) and we might or might not be out again tomorrow ...the day before the day I had planned on taking off! So I have to say in the plans well if we have school the day before I leave then do this and if we do not have school then do this..it is utterly exhausting!

Also my 5th grade class that I have right now is very, very difficult. they enjoy nothing and are always arguing with each other and there are only 13 of them. Imagine if they had 30 like my 7th grade class right now. Anyway they still love MindCraft and Legos so I decided to hopefully give the sub a lesson that they would be interested in...keep your fingers crossed for her.

1. I printed out the 1 cm grid paper from here:

2. I made copies for the entire class (and a few extras for "just in case").

3. Got my supplies together:

      Pencils sharpened, erasers, Sharpies, Ultra Fine Sharpies, and Colored Pencils.

4. Next we drew my Self Portrait in the style of MindCraft.....going ONE BLOCK AT A TIME!

5. Trace in Sharpie.
6. Color ...viola!
